Day 9 - Final Day ............ah, F%*k It!

I decided on Day 8 evening to not bother continuing.  I was starving!  To put myself through that torture for another day for the "possible" chance of losing 1/2 lb was just not worth it to me.  So I ate a piece of ham.

The morning of day 9, I was starting to have second thoughts but once I did my weigh in and measurements, I had a headache coming on much like the one on day 2 and it wasn't worth it to continue and be a crabby bitch all day.

My final meaursements are:

Weight 136 lbs > 131 lbs

neck 13.5 = 13.5
left upper arm 10.25 = 10.25
right upper arm 10.25 = 10.25
chest 37.5 > 37
diaphragm 33 > 32.5
waist 33.25 > 33
abdomen 37.5 > 37
buttocks 37.5 > 37.25
left calf 14 > 13.5
right calf 14 > 13.5
left knee 14.75 > 14.25
right knee 14.75 > 14.5

So I still have about 1/2 tub of shake powder left, accelerator pills and snacks. I like having the shake as a breakfast option on my always hectic mornings and will continue on that as well as the pills. Not sure about the snacks as they are getting chalky tasting but aren't too bad if you eat an almond with it!

Overall, the cleanse was good - I am just bad at sticking with things, especially with all that 's been going on lately. I do feel and notice a difference from my chest down to my gut that it is smaller and I'm not feeling bloated like I usually did. Good way to cut out the at least 3 cans a day of diet Pepsi and other junk. I do feel like I'm not craving it like I was too.

So we are moving Friday and I'll be super busy with trying to get the house organized and everything put away over the next few weeks and that alone will be an excuse not to be overeating since I'll be too busy.

I don't think I would buy this product again.  I feel like I may have gotten the same results by starving myself the first 2 days and then just doing protein shakes and tiny meals on the other days.

We'll see how far I get on my own.

Day 8 - First of final 2 cleanse days

Hectic morning again.  3 year old peed in my bed around 12:30 a.m. so was up doing laundry and had bad sleep.  Didn't get to my cleanse drink until I got to work at 8:30 a.m.  Also had accelerator pill and one of the snacks mixed with an almond.  It's 11:00 a.m. now and am on second glass of water and going in for second snack.  Will find it hard not eating today or tomorrow but hoping it will make a difference. 

I definately have lost 1/4 inch on chest,  1 inch on diaphragm, 1/2 inch on waist, 1/2 inch on abdoment and 1/4 inch on butt.  Don't care about my knees, calves, etc.  Hoping the next two days will increase these amounts as it was the first two days that started them.  Weight this morning was 132.2 lbs - from 136 lbs in the beginning.

Shake Days 4 & 5 - The Weekend Bust

So Friday evening, kids & I were starved and were going to visit hubby working at new house.  They wanted KFC so I called him to see if he had eaten yet.  He hadn't - which was the beginning.  I did manage to eat a small fries the kids didn't eat with ketchup & gravy and just got a small Snacker sandwich.  Didn't bother having a shake when I got home as I figured what was the point and it would be extra calories.

Saturday started out good.  Had the shake & accelerator pill for breakfast.  Spent the morning doing laundry and boxing up a lot of stuff for the big move on Friday.  Hubby called from new house and MIL had brought hamburger/corn/rice to do up as wraps.  I didn't want to cook lunch for kids as I desperatley needed groceries so we went over.  I did only eat one wrap but had diet Sprite with it.  Shipped the kids off to Nanny for the afternoon while I cleaned up at new house (ate some chips there) but when I went to pick them up, Nanny had a yummy supper ready of baked potatoes and t-bone steak.  Had one potato smothered with margarine and Epicure sour cream spread (yum) and about half a steak.  Stomach felt huge afterwards and had the biggest burp ever.  No shake again for supper.

Sunday started good again with shake & pill.  But then I cooked a small ham to bring hubby and MIL for lunch with rice.  Had 2 pieces of ham and a small bit of rice with diet Pepsi.  Nanny took the kids again while I then packed up a trailer with all of our boxes that had been in the storage room of the basement of our rental since we moved in in July.  I then spent 2 1/2 hours going up and down stairs and in and out of the trailer.  I was literally dripping with sweat.  Figure that makes up for the exercise I missed during the week.  Supper came and I tried a cabbage roll Nanny had made.  Not my thing, just ate the inside but then snacked on the remaining chips.  No supper shake.

But.....the two t-shirts I wore on the weekend that are ususally snug, felt looser in the boobage and belly areas.  Weight on weekend hovered between 132-133.

Shake Day 3 - Are we almost done yet?

Woke up late this morning again.  Glad there is no school to rush to, just the sitter's house.  Weight this morning 131.6 lbs.  Had my shake & accelerator pill on the way to work.  On water now.  I may try to get a burger for lunch or even a kid's meal, they are under 600 calories and really fill me up anyway.  I just need some sustenance. 

I also wore a pair of jeans this morning and my "roof over my porch" isn't hanging out as it usually would and feel like the jeans fit better.  These are a more looser fit jeans than my favorite pair (which I thought I had originally put on this morning in the dark) but I don't feel like the button is digging into my gut like it usually would.

Haven't been doing any exercise.  They recommend at least 20 minutes per day but as I said, I'm lazy.  Just did the 10 minutes the first day.  I'm up and down stairs at least 20 times a day at work and then again at home so I figure that's my exercise for the day.  Also, I've noticed my legs are tiring more easily going up the stairs.  I think this cleanse weakends your muscles.  Update later....

So I had a Wendy's Ultimate Chicken Grill sandwich for lunch.  It was yummy and it was 390 calories.  I'm allowed 400-600 for lunch so I figure it was ok. 

Just noticed that my cleanse rep posted on Facebook another 9 day result of someone I went to school with.  She lost 9lbs and 11 inches.  I wonder where all of her inches were lost?  And if she exercised?  I think she probably exercised as I used to see her walking in the summer and she probably kept it up.

I don't think I want her to post my name in my results since hubby doesn't know I'm doing the cleanse or (more importantly) how much I paid for it.  Man, I hope to have better results.  Two more shake days and then back to 2 more cleanse (starve) days.  I'm going to be packing up the majority of our stuff this weekend in our rental house and cleaning the new house.  Big move on Friday.

Shake Day 2

Day 2 of shake day.  Running late again this morning and made shake to drink on way to work and had accelerator pill.  I also weighed myself this morning and was at 132 lbs.  My monthly visitor is also here so I'm hoping that is contributing unless it is because I actually ate and had shakes yesterday.  They only say to measure again on day 9 but that is after cleansing again.  I think they cleansing (ie. not eating all day & starving) is what puts the inches and weight down.  I'd really like a full meal with potatoes, gravy & chicken....maybe I can find one that is 400-600 calories?  Also, still no BM.

Rainy, dreary day today.  Going to try to do a bunch of work this morning and may "relax" a bit this afternoon and catch up on some tv online.

Update:

Had my salad with chicken in it again.  Was ok, filling enough.  I also had 2 almonds and my accelerator pill and lots of water throughout the afternoon.  No peeing as much as I had the first day.  Also did watch some online tv at work (bad I know but I had absolutely nothing to do and earphones are wonderful inventions).  Caught up with 2 Broke Girls, Modern Family and Revenge.  I love Revenge, great show!

Had to take daughter to dance class for 5:15 pm so dropped son off to hubby working at new house, my mom was also there cleaning for me (bless her) so I offered to pick up supper for them on my way back from dropping daughter off.  Picked them up each a slice of pizza, said I was going to share son's.  Had just 3 or 4 small bites and one small sip of orange pop so I ended up skipping my supper shake although by 9 p.m. I was pretty hungry.  Had to stay up later to catch The Vampire Diaries, great show too!

Also, finally had a BM!  Sorry if TMI but they are few and far between.

Shake Day 1 - And I get to EAT today!!!!

So this morning was the day to do my second set of measurements.  No huge changes but I do notice my gut doesn't "seem" as big.

Weight today is 131.6 lbs down from 136 lbs on Monday.  Also, "that time of the month" started today as well so I'm curious if I am retaining any poundage or water from it?

The only changes in my measurements are:

Diaphragm:  32.25 down from 33
Waist 33 down from 33.25
Abdomen 37 down from 37.75
left calf 13.75 down from 14
right calf 13.5 down from 14
left upper knee 14.25 down from 14.75
right upper knee 14.25 down from 14.75

I find it weird that I've lost from my calves and upper knees.  I really don't think my upper knees were "fat" to begin with.  I think this is where Isagenix get a lot of the "inches lost" from in their before/after claims.

I had my first shake this morning and 1 accelerator pill.  I did buy a Magic Bullet yesterday and it is amazing!  I put 3 ice cubes in it and they were crushed in seconds.  My regular blender would never crush them at all, they'd be big chunks.  I can also make the kids smoothies and milkshakes with it.  Shake was tasty.  Pretty thick and a little hard to drink through a straw.  They say to drink it within 10 minutes too, which I managed to do.

It is now 10:44 a.m. and I'm on my second glass of water and I had 1 almond.  I'm planning on going to the grocery store at lunch and getting a salad with chicken on it.  It also has bacon bits & cheese.  I hope it's within the 400-600 calorie meal they suggest.  I'll let you know how it tastes.

Also, no BM yet.  I'm usually not regular anyway (hence the cleanse) but I feel some gas stirring.

UPDATE:
So I ate my lunch, it was satisfying.  I wasn't devouring it as fast as I usually would.  About half an hour after I ate, I could feel it making its way through my stomach.  I think I'm going to have a BM today.  Yahoo!  Hope it takes some more weight with it.

Had at least 3-4 more glasses of water, 1 snack and just had 1 almond and it's 4:13 p.m.  Going to make my shake for supper but I may not get home until closer to 7 p.m. so I'll be late with it.

Today hasn't been hard at all.  Didn't even have my usual 3 p.m. slump where I need a pick me up like chocolate or a diet pepsi.  Not really craving anything either....but that may be a different story if I were to smell something yummy.  Trying to keep the windows up when driving by McDs, KFC, Burger King, etc.

Here's hoping for the scale to show a lower number tomorrow!

Day 2 - Isagenix Cleanse Day

So today  was a totally hectic morning to say the least.  3 year old wanted to wear crocs to the sitters house in the pouring rain, I couldn't find anything to wear for our office website photos this morning, we were running late, etc. 

Due to running late, I didn't get the first cleanse drink, pill or snack into me by 8:30 a.m.  So I am off schedule for today but will try to get back on track throughout the day. 

Super busy at work today coupled with a crrrrrrranky boss and a headache is what is on schedule so far!  Do you feel my enthusiasm?

Update later...........

So afternoon flew by with photos being taken and had to leave a bit early to take 6 year old to swimming lessons on time.  Snacked on my limit of 6 almonds (also mixed 3 of the snacks with the almonds to imagine eating chocolate covered almonds which are my fav).  Was hungry most of the afternoon and evening but was in bed by 9 pm.  Don't feel bloated.  I usually feel bloated ALL THE TIME.  I drink way to much diet pepsi and eat way to much carbs and it all goes to my gut which is my only real problem area.  If I can shrink that down with this cleanse, I'll be happy.

Day 1 - Cleanse Day

Today is day 1 of my first cleanse day.  Another one to come tomorrow before the 5 day shake days and then 2 more cleanse days.  Here's my progress so far:


6:30 a.m.   Drank 2 glasses of water, followed by 1 BM - due to last night's hamburger tacos.  Hamburger does not agree with my stomach.
7:00 a.m.   Drank the cleanse mixture followed by 1 accelerator.  Not too bad of a taste, kind of like a fruit flavored Sweet Tart candy being mixed with water.  Easy to drink, a little sediment left at the bottom.
7:30 a.m.  Another BM due to the hamburger tacos
7:35 a.m.  Feeling a little warm - not sweaty but almost like my internal furnace is heating up.  Weird feeling.
7:45 a.m.   Hunger pain begins.  Had 1 of the chocolate "snacks".  Tasted like chocolate chalk a bit.  Kind of like a stale protein bar taste.
8:15 a.m.  Get an e-mail from co-worker that she won't be in today.  Great.  Now I've got twice the amount of work to do plus I'm hoping there are not a lot of long bathroom breaks needed.
8:30 a.m.  Get to work, drinking lots of water, lots of pees
9:00 a.m.  Had another snack, more water, peeing about every 1/2 hour now
10:00 a.m.  Another snack, more water
11:00 a.m.  Another cleanse drink, not bad the second time around.  Saving my 11:00 a.m. snack for later as the sheet doesn't allow another one until 2:00 p.m.

Weigh in this morning:  136 lbs  I am also 5'2 to get a little perspective.

Really, who cares if I lose inches in my calf or knees?  The only ones I care about are diaphragm, waist, abdomen and buttocks.

Busy morning so far at work.  There are some dull hunger pains but nothing I can't manage by staying busy and not focusing on them.

I need to buy a Magic Bullet for my shake days.  May head to Canadian Tire at lunch to get one, although my Blackberry battery is getting very low, very fast so may head home to get my charger instead and get the Bullet tomorrow.


Afternoon update to come......

Afternoon/evening update:

So, I stayed in the office for lunch.  My car was blocked in and it was pouring rain so didn't feel like going anywhere.  Put loads of boxes in back of van in anticipation of moving day next Friday.  Finally moving into our new house.  The countdown to that coincides with my cleanse countdown so I'm busy with both and, hopefully, they will both be here before I know it.

Continued drinking water and having a snack when required.

around 4 p.m. the hunger pains were starting to intensify.  Kids wanted to go to my parent's house when I picked them up from the sitter at 4:30 so we went.  There was a delicious smelling supper there...seasoned steak, baked potato with Epicure baked potato topping (heavenly), lots of snacks like chips and cheesies.  And I am proud to say I DIDN'T HAVE ONE TINY BITE OF ANYTHING!!!!  Even though it was sooo hard and sooo tempting.  But I knew how much I paid for this product and didn't want to ruin it within the first 12 hours....so I had a small apple instead.

Then we went to the new house to visit hubby.  His mother brought over a lovely delicious smelling roast beef dinner (with gravy - my fav).  I had to lie and say I already ate (since hubby doesn't know about said Isagenix plan yet due to the cost as he would be totally against paying for it, I want to surprise him with the results before I tell him).  I had to keep myself occupied and look away and try not to breathe in the aroma as everyone ate. 

Took the kids home, gave smallest a bath as he missed it last night.  While he played, I did sit-ups, lunges, squats and side leg lifts with my 6 year old daughter for about 10 minutes.  She thought it was hilarious! 

Had final cleanse drink at 7 p.m. and saving my last snack of the day for later.  They say to go to bed early to avoid the hunger pains but I'm usually asleep before 10 p.m. anyways so it won't be too hard for me.

Also, no BM yet.  I must have peed at least 30 times or more today though.

Second day tomorrow.  Should be interesting!

The day before.....

This blog is a way to keep track of my progress on the Isagenix 9 day cleanse system.  Let me start off by giving a little background on myself.

I am 36 years old (16 days ago), married for 8 1/2 years, 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son. 

I was always the skinny one.  From an early age being called "chicken legs", to a teenager who couldn't get past 95 lbs on the scale, to a young 20-22 year old topping the scale at 105 lbs.  I thought there was no way "I" could ever gain weight, let one be called "fat" ever in my life. 

Well, times sure have changed!  I met my husband at age 22 (he was 27).  I never liked to eat in front of people and would often only have 1-2 meals per day or a lot of snacks (hence the low weight but I felt full).  Hubby helped change all that.  He loved to eat and so did his family.  I felt guilty if I didn't go for a second helping eating there for dinner as they pushed it on you to have seconds.  I slowly got a little bit bigger, bit by bit.

I was getting compliments at the first 10 pound weight gain that "I needed it", "You look good with some meat on your bones".  I felt big and didn't notice myself getting bigger and bigger.  I was 127 lbs when I got married in 2003 and in no time, got up to 135 lbs.  I gained 35 lbs with each pregnancy (I didn't make a pig of myself at all) and lost it all within 2 weeks of delivering.  No, I didn't breastfeed to lose the weight.  It literally just went away due to all the water weight, placenta, and all that other great stuff.

I just couldn't seem to lose anymore than that.  I also didn't spend a lot of time in front of the mirror so I didn't "see" what others could see.  All of my weight goes straight to my stomach so, yes, I do look pregnant, at least 5-6 months along.  I had a lady ask me in line at the grocery store, my mother has asked, other family members, and I see the glances down at my belly that friends and family make.  I am embarrased.

I am also lazy.  I try to start an exercise or diet program and only last 1 -2 weeks.  The best I had done was to lose 11 lbs on my own modified version of Weight Watchers, only to regain it once I started my old habits again.

My old habits are: drive-thrus at least 4 times per week from McDonalds, KFC, Wendys, Burger King, Dairy Queen, etc.  I try not to go to the same place to often as I once had a lady at the KFC window ask me if I worked close by as I was usually the first one there at lunch.  Avoided that drive-thru for a while after that!

A few weeks ago, I noticed in the new Facebook news feed (that I hate BTW), of one of my friends commenting on someone's quick weight loss.  I immediately followed the source and saw that it was for an Isagenix 9 day cleanse.  I did a quick Google search and read up a bit and left it at that. 

Then Thanksgiving happened and my aunt took one look at my belly and said "are you sure you aren't having any more kids?".  Nice.  When I got home, I looked up the same person on Facebook, did a bit more Googling and e-mailed her the next day (she is a rep for the product).  After speaking with her on Wednesday and her assurances that it was not a "poop" cleanse, I ordered the 9 day system.  $197 later, it arrived the same Friday.  She advised that I wait until after the weekend to begin as the first two days, you can't eat anything so it would be easier to do at work.

I just want to get a jump start to begin my own weight loss plan, I'm thinking the modified Weight Watcher plan again since it had been the only thing to work for me in the past. 

The 9 day system has me doing the cleanse for the first 2 days, then 5 days of shake days with a 400-600 calorie meal, and then 2 more cleanse days.  I have to take my measurements and weight before I begin, and do it again after the 2 days.  I really don't care if my neck or upper arm or thighs lose any inches, my stomach from under my bra to my lower gut (or the "roof over the porch" as my darling husband calls it) is the only area I am concerned with.

Maybe it's a scam and maybe it's not, but I'm willing to try anything to avoid the dreaded question........"when are you due?"

I'll post measurements and weight tomorrow and will update depending on my sanity level with no food.  Oh yeah, there are "snacks" included.  Small chocolate flavoured circles that I am allowed to eat up to 6 times per day.  Do you feel my excitemen?
